Title: Laser in managing periimplant complications- A paradigm shift in implant dentistry"

ABSTRACT

The Presentation shall highlight all aspects of LASERS and commonly used indications for Implant dentistry.  Focus will be on Immediate Implant placement in infected sockets as one of the main indications.

Immediate implant placement has been well-documented as a sound clinical approach, with high success rates. With the advent of technology in all spheres, dentistry has also progressed by leaps and bounds. Now with the introduction of LASERS in dentistry it has become much more precise in terms of control and it enables the dentist to prepare the implant site with minimal trauma to the hard and soft tissue enabling a more precise and comparatively atraumatic surgery. One of the usual contraindications of the implant treatment is the presence of periapical disease associated to the tooth to be replaced.  This can now be overcome by use of Hard tissue LASERS .    A definite protocol will be discussed for all infected extraction sockets  along with case presentations, Clinical data and guidelines for success.  Also we will discuss Peri-Implantitis, soft and hard tissue surgical procedures associated with Implant dentistry.
