Title: Cortico basal implantology- Limitations and expectations

Cortico-Basal implants are cortically-fixated in cortical/Basal bone areas with the intention to obtain the primary stability. Primary stability is essential for immediate loading protocol. This technique utilises the special designed implants which are meant to use the remote cortical and basal bone for the utilisation of the native bone, to serve their purpose, these implants are distinct in their indications, design, and requirements when compared to endosteal implants. Derivatively, the challenges for these implants are also unique as are the complications. The intent of the podium lecture is to highlight the special considerations and the protocols that the operator must pay attention to while implementing this implant treatments in order to minimize the risk of complications associated with them. The lecture shall also discuss the identification of the possible complications and limitations associated with cortico-basal implants and the subsequent trouble shooting to accomplish the expected outcome.
